London, ON – The basement has been excavated and the concrete foundation poured. Twin beams and steel columns have been installed in preparation for the house to be lowered on the foundation.  Moving day is Tuesday, May 3rd. Throughout the day tomorrow, the house will be slid forward and then carefully lifted to be placed back to its original position.

The new basement will increase the usable space of the RAB to 4200 square feet. Once the building is back in place, construction work will begin to restore and renovate the exterior envelope of the house. Paul Hubert, Executive Director of Pathways Skill Development and Placement Centre, is pleased with the progress. “We are ahead of schedule, bringing us closer to completing the first phase of construction. The community interest has been outstanding. There is much work ahead.”

The campaign goal to fund the project is $250,000 with support from corporations, foundations and individual donors. Fundraising efforts will continue over the next several months to ensure completion of the project.
